Meadowbrook Pond
The secret of this park is that it isn't really a park at all.
While it's next door to Meadowbrook Park, Meadowbrook Pond is actually a Public Utilities Project.
The area may be idyllic now, but twenty years ago it wasn't such a nice place to be. This was the site of the Lake City Sewage Treatment Plant.
Seattle Public Utilities, along with the help of local artists and neighborhood groups, transformed it into an enjoyable park that beautifies and protects the local community.
The wetlands help clean runoff and Thorton Creek and protect against flooding. Meadowbrook Pond is an excellent place to enjoy a walk and see wildlife too.
